Naturally nourished children
with Family Naturopath

My Approach to Family Health

I work closely with families to explore the symptoms their children are experiencing and identify the underlying causes that are often overlooked. By analysing health and family history and conducting in-depth health assessments, we can develop a personalised and focused treatment plan.

Drawing on my expertise in naturopathy, herbalism, nutrition, homoeopathy and functional testing, we will collaborate to help your child achieve long-lasting well-being and balance. I prioritise providing you with relevant, impartial advice based on the best available traditional and scientific evidence, ensuring you are well-informed and empowered to make decisions for your child.

How I can support you

I provide assistance for children with acute illnesses, chronic complaints, and offer educational presentations to empower parents in natural treatments.

I have experience and a special interest in working with neurodivergent children:

Autism spectrum disorder (this includes what was once known as Asperger’s syndrome)

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Down syndrome

Dyscalculia (difficulty with math)

Dysgraphia (difficulty with writing)

Dyslexia (difficulty with reading)

Dyspraxia (difficulty with coordination)

Intellectual disabilities

Mental health conditions like obsessive-compulsive disorder and more

Sensory processing disorders

Social anxiety

Tourette syndrome

PANS, PANDAS

and more

My goal is to help you and your family feel at ease, supported, and encouraged as you embrace positive lifestyle changes for your child.

My Vision for Children’s Well-being

I believe that all children deserve optimal well-being, allowing them to fully engage in life as the happiest and healthiest versions of themselves, reaching their true potential.

Creating a healthy family and positive lifestyle shouldn't be about excessive effort or striving for perfection.

Instead, it should be easy and natural, tailored to each family's unique situation and realistic goals.

Consultation Process

  • I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation for new patients to discuss their goals, ask questions and to ensure that I am the right fit for their family.

For current clients following a treatment plan, I also offer this as a service available any time when you have a sudden change to your health e.g. catching a cold or needing additional support in certain areas. This is to ensure that you can stay on track with your or your child’s health goals.

  • When you book an appointment you will receive a link to my questionnaire with your confirmation email. The questionnaire is about your and/or your child’s current and past health conditions, medication and the supplements that are being taken. This will take about 20 minutes to complete. Completing the questionnaire ensures that the initial consultation is efficient.

The aim of the first appointment is to generate a holistic view on your current health situation and to identify the underlying causes of any health complaints. If lab diagnostics are required, this will be discussed during the initial appointment.

If the consultation is for young children (under the age of eight) then I recommend holding the initial consultation without your child if supervision can be organised.

  • After the initial consultation and once I have all the relevant information such as laboratory analysis, I will design an individual treatment plan which we’ll look at together during this first follow up appointment.

We’ll also go through any laboratory test results and adapt the treatment plan and add in any hands-on treatments if required.

  • Further follow up consultations are there to support your ongoing journey and, if necessary, amend your plan according to the progress and reactions observed.

The rhythm and number of appointments are based on the treatment concept and your or your child’s individual needs.

Functional Testing

Functional testing examines the body's physiology to understand how it functions at the molecular, tissue, or organ levels. These tests are essential for identifying the root causes of health complaints such as biochemical irregularities, metabolic dysfunctions, microbiome imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, toxic loads, hormonal imbalances and their complex interplay.

An initial consultation is highly recommended to fully assess your health concerns and accurately interpret test results. This approach ensures personalised and effective treatment plans. For tailored advice on the most beneficial tests for your health and wellness goals, please book a consultation.

  • The OAT offers a comprehensive metabolic snapshot of your or your child’s overall health with over 70 markers.  It analyses vitamin and antioxidant levels, energy production, fat metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, neurotransmitter levels (insight into serotonin, dopamine pathways), markers for oxalates and provides an accurate evaluation of intestinal yeast and bacteria and detoxification and more.

This test may be useful if you or your child are experiencing

    ·       Chronic fatigue

    ·       Anxiety

    ·       Depression

    ·       Poor immunity

    ·       A chronic illness

    ·       Autoimmune disease

    ·       Weight problems

    ·       Difficulty concentrating

    ·       A behavioural disorder, hyperactivity

    ·       or have been diagnosed with ASD, ADD/ADHD.

  • Advanced DNA testing provides valuable insights into how your body responds to diet, exercise, supplements, medication and lifestyle choices (epigenetics). Through a simple saliva test, you can discover your unique genetic blueprint, identifying key variations that impact your health. This information helps you make informed decisions to improve your wellbeing. Tailoring your daily habits and treatment based on your genetic profile can lead to optimal health, well-being and performance.

  • The Complete Microbiome Mapping Test was designed to assess a patient’s microbiome from a single stool sample, with particular attention to microbes that cause disease or that disrupt normal microbial balance and contribute to perturbations in the GI flora and contribute to illness. It screens for pathogenic bacteria, commensal bacteria, opportunistic pathogens, fungi, viruses and parasites.

This test provides valuable insights into immune function, inflammation and digestive health.

  • It’s now believed that up to 80% of people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) may also have SIBO. Since IBS affects up to 20% of the population, SIBO is likely more common than previously realised. The test determines if you have an overgrowth of bacteria in your small intestine. It also provides us with important information about which type of SIBO infection you have to allow us to treat the infection accordingly.

Common signs and symptoms of SIBO include:

    ·       Abdominal pain, especially after eating

    ·       Bloating, belching, and gas

    ·       Fatigue and brain fog

    ·       Nausea and vomiting

    ·       Poor nutrient absorption

    ·       Constipation and/or diarrhoea

  • I work with a number of test providers depending on your budget and symptoms.

Food sensitivities can contribute to a wide variety of illnesses such as

GI Upset – gas, bloating, diarrhea
